Want to participate in restoring this old John Deere ?

The Denton FFA Alumni Association and the Denton County Antique Tractor Club are sponsoring a Tractor Restoration Team that will compete in the Chevron Delo® Tractor Restoration Competition beginning the Fall of 2008

A 1952 John Deere G was generously donated to the Denton FFA by Rod Elliott as a tribute to the memory of his father, Addison Roy Elliott.  Rod's father used the tractor on the land where he was born and raised in Talosa, TX.  On the same farm, Rod remembers a John Deere Model A tractor with cleated wheels that his grandfather had purchased new in the 30's. Rod's father had participated in vocational education programs while attending high school in Kemp, TX.  Rod's father-in-law (Edward Floyd “Kit” Carson) graduated from TAMU in 1939 after graduating from Sanger HS.  He was Cooke County School Superintendant for a number of years.  He also taught Ag-Ed before that.  He passed away in 2000.  He was still actively working his farm up until the day he died.  He was 82 when he passed away in the cab of his pick up out in the field.  His motto always was that he had rather “Wear out than rust out”.

The Denton FFA is organizing a Tractor Restoration Team consisting of FFA Students from the Denton ISD High Schools.

Alumni Purchase NEW Stock Trailer for the Denton FFA

The Denton FFA Alumni Association has funded the purchase of a NEW Integrity 24' Aluminum Gooseneck Stock Trailer for the DISD FFA Chapters.

With the increase in DISD student participation, the Denton FFA needed a larger stock trailer to transport project animals to livestock shows.  Animal transportation to shows in, Fort Worth, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio has been difficult with existing FFA trailers.

The FFA Alumni Association provides financial support and assistance to the DISD High School FFA Chapters.  The NEW trailer will be shared by all DISD High School FFA Chapters.

TRAILER SPONSORSHIP ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY

Businesses or Individuals interested in SPONSORSHIP ADVERTISING on the NEW Denton FFA Trailer, contact Jason Hardin jhardin@dentonisd.org (DISD AG Education Sponsor) for more information.
