THE COWBOY WAY

" It's better to be a has-been that a never-was."

The Denton FFA Alumni Association is planning a student restoration of this 1949 Allis Chalmers C.

The tractor was generously donated to the Denton FFA by Gordon & Sylva Cohen of Copper Canyon in memory of her parents and to provide their support for agricultural education of future generations of Texas farmers.

Sylva's mother, Nancy Mundy Surratt, was the first woman to graduate from Michigan State with a degree in Agriculture, when professors told her that no woman will ever make it through the program! Her Dad was an engineer, but they always dreamed of having a farm. At age 55, he sold his business, and they purchased a small farm in Clinton Township, Michigan. "Esmeralda" was purchased and they operated the farm until they both passed away in 1994.
