The
Denton Independent School District is constructing
Denton's FIRST free-standing AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION BARN.
This facility is
dedicated to veterinary science, care and maintenance of
animals, and general agricultural education for all
students in the Denton Independent
School District.
This
facility will provide opportunity for students from all three Denton
High Schools to learn about the Denton Agricultural
Legacy and career opportunities in the Agricultural Sciences.
Barbara
Fischer, Principal of the new Guyer High School has been
instrumental in the development of the
new AG BARN project. The location of the DISD Ag Barn is
on the John H.
Guyer High School campus in the southern
part of Denton county, Guyer High School campus opened in
the fall of 2005
The
free standing Agricultural Barn
Specifications are:

Approx
100' x 50' structure size
-
12'
overhang along one side 100' side.
-
House
approx 36 indoor/outdoor animal stalls.

The
DENTON FFA Alumni Association has taken on the challenge
of raising the funds necessary to provide the animal
stalls and equipment that will go into the new AG BARN.
Donations for this project are being accepted through the
AG-ED LEGACY Program.
Individual animal stall costs are projected at $500 per
stall. Stall
AG-ED LEGACY CONTRIBUTIONS are tax-deductible contributions
to the
Stall Sponsor.
